1. Genesis

   • The Creation stories show us what God had originally planned for us before we sinned was 7 days of crations.The book has 2 main sections: Primeval History: The creation and expansion of the human race- Genesis 1-11. They tell of a time before the invention of writing. Deals with God and the nations Tells two accounts of Creation. The story of Abraham and his descendants - Genesis 12-50. Deals with God and the nation of the Israelites.
   • The first account of Creation: Teaches us that the world is fundamentally good. The human person is created in God’s image.The second account of Creation: God breathed life into human. God created men and women as partners to complement each other. Adam has to care for the garden: Therefore we participate in God’s creative work. Note that creation stories teach us that free will is essential to being human.
   • The fall of Humanity: God gave man and woman all they needed including life itself. Their disobedience to God’s one rule disrespected their creator and showed a desire to be equal to him.The term Original Sin has two meanings:term Original Sin has two meanings: The sin of the first human beings who disobeyed God‘s command by choosing to follow their own will and causing them to lose their original holiness and become subject to death 2. The fallen state of human nature that affects every person born into the world.

2. Exodus

   • After the broken covenant is renewed, the tabernacle is constructed, and the cloud signifying God’s glorious presence descends to cover it. These events made Israel a nation and confirmed their unique relationship with God. 3. Leviticus

   • The book mainly treats cultic matters (i.e., sacrifices and offerings, purity and holiness, the priesthood, the operation of the sanctuary, and feast days) but is also interested in various behavioral, ethical, and economic issues (e.g., sexual practices, idolatrous worship, treatment of others, the sale of land, slavery).
