1. Clock speed

   • How?
     • Increasing the clock speed will increase the speed of the computer because there will be more cycles
   • What?
     • The number of fetch decode execute cycles a CPU can perform per second. This is measured in hertz (Hz).
       • 1Hz – 1 cycle per second 1KHz – 1000 (thousand) cycles per second 1MHz – 1,000,000 (million) cycles per second 1GHz – 1,000,000,000 (billion) cycles per second

2. Cache

   • what?
     • Cache memory stores frequently-used instructions What?
   • How?

3. Cores

   • What?
     • independent processors
       • This caries out the instructions at the same time
         • CPU
   • How?
     • If you increase the number of cores then it will be faster and improve the performance of the computer

4. RAM

   • How?
     • The greater the amount of RAM, the more instructions and data can be stored while a program is running. This means that less instructions will be stored in the much slower virtual memory and will therefore improve the performance of the computer
   • What?
     • RAM violate storage
