  1. HTTP

    • HTTP is the acronym for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (Hypertext Transfer Protocol). HTTPS is the same but with the addition of "Secure". These two protocols are used for the same thing, the transfer of data, HTTP is on port 80 and HTTPS 443.
  2. Shared Folders and Windows Firewall Information

    • When a folder or file is shared, a Windows Firewall exception is created for File and Printer Sharing. This exception opens the ports shown in the following table. Connection Ports TCP: 139, 445 UDP: 137, 138
  3. SSH

    • Secure SHell (SSH), is a protocol for remotely accessing a private server. It also gives its name to the program that enables its implementation. The SSH or Secure SHell protocol is a protocol that enables access to and administration of a server through a backdoor. And unlike other protocols such as HTTP or FTP, SSH establishes secure connections between the two systems. This is done by using the so-called client/server architecture, and SSH also uses port 22.
  4. SMTP, IMAP, POP3

    • Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a server-to-server protocol, so that other protocols must be used to access messages, The most common SMTP ports are: 25, 465, 587 and 2525.
      • Internet Message Access Protocol is a method of accessing emails stored on a server, possibly shared, using ports 143 and 993.
        • (Post Office Protocol Version 3), POP3 servers allow access to a single inbox, unlike IMAP servers, which provide access to multiple folders on the servers, using ports 110 and 995.
  5. SCP

    • Secure Copy Protocol (SCP), often referred to simply as Secure Copy, is a protocol for computer systems that ensures the secure transfer of data between a local computer (local host) and a remote computer (remote host) or, alternatively, between two remote computers. It is based on the RCP (remote copy) commands, Ports 22
  6. DNS

    • The Domain Name System or DNS is a hierarchical naming system that deals with the administration of the Domain Name Space, which goes over port 53/UDP, 53/TCP
  7. DHCP

    • It stands for "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol". DHCP is a protocol that automatically assigns a unique IP address to each device that connects to a network. With DHCP, there is no need to manually assign IP addresses to new devices. Therefore, no user configuration is required to connect to a DCHP-based network. Because of its ease of use and widespread support, DHCP is the default protocol used by most routers and networking equipment. DHCP messages use port 67 (UDP) as the server port and port 68 (UDP) as the client port.
