Parallel Lines

1. If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal , then the :

   • - pairs of corresponding angles are equal.
     • - pairs of alternate angles are equal .
       • - interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementry

2. The lines are parallel if a transversal cuts a pair of the lines in such a way that :

   • - the angles of any pair of corresponding angles are equal , or
     • - the angles of any pair of alternate interior angles are equal , or
       • - the angles of any pair of interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementry

3. The distance between parallel lines does not change , it is the same everywhere.

4. Two lines in the same plane perpendicular to a given line are parallel to each other.

5. Lines , parallal to a given line in a plane to each other .
