PARALLEL LINES

1. If two lines in a plane do not intersect other, they are called parallel lines

   • If two parallel lines are lines are cut by a transversal, then the ~ *pairs of corresponding angles  are equal. *pairs of alternate(interior as well as exterior )angles are equal. *interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementary
   • If a transversal cuts a pair of the lines in such away that-*the angles of corresponding angles are equal or* the angles of any pair of alternate interior (or exterior ) angles are equal or .* the angles of interior angles on the same side of transversal are supplementary, then the lines are PARALLEL.
   • If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the -*pairs of corresponding angles are equal.*pairs of alternate(interior as well as exterior ) angles are equal.*interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementary.

2. The distance between parallel lines does not change it is the same ever where .

3. Lines ,parallel to a given line in a plane , are parallel to each other.

4. Two lines in the same plane perpendicular to a given line are parallel to each other .

5. A line segment can be divided internally in a given ratio by constructing parallel lines
