Input and output devices are what are out of the computer to do something coded by the computer necessarily. For example: A keyboard is an input device because it inputs characters into your computer.
- The central processing unit, the CPU, converts these characters into letters and numbers. The CPU is the brain of the computer and can code 0's and 1's into the computer to make something. For example, an A is made with 0's and 1's.
- How the computer works with input and output...
Secondary storage is a type of storage that doesn't lose your data when the device you're using is shut down or restarted. This is called non-volatile. For example, if you turn your phone off, you don't lose your phone numbers, passwords etc.
- There is another storage that temporarily stores your data. This is called volatile and doesn't keep data because that's what it's coded to do. For example, if you open up a link, you can play the game if that's what's on the link and then deletes your username and data.
- Storage Devices...
- There are 3 types of secondary storage. These are optical, magnetic and solid-state. Optical storage is discs and CD's. Magnetic storage is also to do with DVD's and also tapes. Solid state storage are USB chips and solid state drives.
- There is another storage that temporarily stores your data. This is called volatile and doesn't keep data because that's what it's coded to do. For example, if you open up a link, you can play the game if that's what's on the link and then deletes your username and data.
