Triarchic Intelligence- Avery

1. Analytical

   • Skill in solving problems and puzzles (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019).
     • Also referred to as componential intelligence, and is applied to analyze problems to solve them (Ruhl, 2020).
       • I enjoy solving puzzles but it can be challenging for me.
         • I have to use this intelligence everyday in college to complete homework.

2. Practical

   • Skill in managing emotions and being able to recognize them in yourself and other people (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019).
     • This intelligence is used in everyday life and is the ability to adapt to the changing demands of the environment (Ruhl, 2020).
       • College has really made me tap into this intelligence because I have really needed to learn how to manage my emotions while not bringing them out on my roommate.
         • The world is constantly changing, so we have to also be constantly adapting to those changes, for example COVID. No one was prepared for COVID and it was a huge change for everyone, but we had to change how we lived so that we could slow the spread, and those changes are still coming everyday.

3. Creative

   • The ability to think in new, interesting ways (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019).
     • This intelligence involves a broad imagination and desire for innovation (Ruhl, 2020).
       • I lack this strength of intelligence because I do not have the best imagination. I do not enjoy pretending, I like real life things that can be seen and talked about.
         • I think my desire for innovation will increase as I go through college because I will become more familiar with my field and looking to make it better.
