    • Investigated chunking
    • Participants presented with lists of 1 word, 2 words and 8 word chunks
      • The larger the chunk the less can be recalled

11. Peterson & Peterson

    • Test how long info lasts in STM when rehersal is prevented
    • The participants where shown nonsense trigrams (3 letters) asked to count backwards in 3's. The amount of time lengthened e.g. 3, 10, 18, 30
      • 3s = 80%
      • 6s = 40%
      • 18s = 10%

12. Bahrick- 1995

    • Test of LTM
    • 1 - 45 years since participants left high school. 1 recognition group and recall group
      • 7-14 years = 90% (rec) 60% (reg)
      • 47 = 60% (rec) 20% (reg)
