3. Polymers can also be classified on the basis of mode of polymerisation

   • Addition polymers
     • The addition polymers are formed by the repeated addition of monomer molecules possessing double or triple bonds
   • Condensation polymers
     • The condensation polymers are formed by repeated condensation reaction between two different bi-functional or tri-functional monomeric units.

5. Addition of polymerization

   • For adding it requests a double bound, no molecule is eliminated and no by-product is generated. The initiation of addition polymerization in the above case, the breaking of a double bond requires catalysts, pressure, heat or UV light.Terminal radicals are required for ending the reaction.
