1. Position measures divide a data set into groups with the same number of individuals. .

2. To calculate position measures, it is necessary that the data be ordered from smallest to largest.

   • Quartiles
     • Quartiles are the three values of the variable that divide a set of ordered data into four equal parts. Q1, Q2 and Q3 determine the values corresponding to 25%, 50% and 75% of the data.
