1. Social/Emotional

   • I Understands the idea of "mine" and "his/hers" Show a wide range of emotions, such as being sad, angry, happy, or bored
   • Increasingly independent emotionally and socially. They may now be able to cooperate with friends, take turns and some problem solving skills. Imitate parents and friends Show affection for familiar family and friends.
   • They should enjoy exploring a different variety of foods. Should be Toilet trained would have built up social skills up through twos group and starting nursery Emotionally will be able to express there feelings more freely Sense of danger is more aware

2. Cognitive

   • Cognitive Milestones (learning, thinking, problem-solving): Names a few colours of items, tells what comes next in a well-known story, draws a person with three or more body parts.

3. Language/Communication

   • They can understand slightly complicated instructions and explanations. 3 & 4-year-olds will be learning to enjoy listening to longer stories and can remember much of what happens. They can find it difficult to pay attention to more than one thing at a time.
   • 3/4 year olds can tell simple stories, put words to emotions, and use words as part of their play with others. Sentences are often longer and more complicated, but this age group might still make grammatical mistakes.

4. Movement/Physical

   • Should be able to ride a tricycle, climb, run & hop as well as kick, throw and catch a ball
   • Threading medium sized beads, use scissors confidently & draw/colour.
