It is the union of two or more metallic or non-metallic pieces by means of an electric arc, creating a fixed piece.
- SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) is defined as the process in which two metals are joined through a localized fusion, produced by an electric arc between a metal electrode and the base metal to be joined.
- GMAW (or continuous wire arc welding under gas or inert metal gas protection) is an arc welding process that requires automatic feeding of an electrode protected by a gas that is supplied externally (2). May 5, 2022
- FCAW is an electric arc welding process in which the arc is established between the continuous tubular electrode and the workpiece to be welded.
