Atom models
Bohr
- Bohr believed that atoms had a central nucleous and electrons orbiting it. Bohr also believed that electrons circuled in circuler orbits with fixed energies. And he also believed that an electron could absorve energy "to hop" to a higher level or to issue a photon to return to a lower level.
- Electronic cloud model
- Nowadays, it is believed that atoms are made up of a nucleus that contains protons and neutrons, around whitch is a "cloud" of electrons. Atoms are divisible, and we know that they aren't the tiniest particles in existence, like quarks; there are particles even tinier than them.

- Conclusion
- By way of conclusion, over and over the time, many people have created various theories about what the atoms that make up matter are like.
- Conclusion
Rutherford
- Rutherford believed that atoms had a very tiny, hard nucleus, that contained the atom's positive charge. The negatively charged electrons would be located in the electrosphere, that is the empty space around the nucleud. This model is compared to a solar system, where the sun represents the nucleus and the planets are the electrons.
Introduction
- In this presentation I will talk about the evolution of the theory of how an atom is like.
Democritus
- Democritus believed that atoms are indestructible an eternal, being the fundamental essence of matter.
Dalton
- Dalton believed that matter is composed of atoms, that are the tiniest particles and cannot be created or destroyed
Thomson
- The electrons were disscovered by Thomson, are distributed whithin a positively charged sphere. The opposite of Dalton's model. Thomson proposed that the atom was not indivisible, but rayher a structure that could transfer electrons.
