1. Prescribed Criteria

   • Prescribed Criteria 1- Your story must have at least 10 different variables in total
     • Requirements, Use 10 different variables, must have a story, must use all the variables
   • Prescribed Criteria 2- You must have at least two choices for each input (IE. Yes | No, Left | Right, Buy | Sell)
     • Requirements: Have two choices for each question, Use Yes or No options
   • Prescribed Criteria 3- You must use a WHILE loop
     • Requirements: Use a while loop
   • Prescribed Criteria 4- You must use variables that match your storyline
     • Requirements: Use variables that match your storyline

2. Coding Constructs

   • IF Statements
     • An if statement is where a block of code runs if something else happens
   • FOR Loops
     • A for loop is a loop in python that is used for repeating a piece of code multiple times
       • E.g. inventory=['torch, key, map, rope, potion'] for item in inventory, print(item)
   • While Loops
     • A while loop is when a block of code is repeated until there i a break in code.

3. Algorithm Constructs

   • Sequence
     • A sequence is a number of instructions that are processed one after the other.
   • Assignment
     • Assignment is used to store the value of an expression into a variable.
       • DECLARE studentName SET studentName TO Bob
   • Selection and Condition
     • A selection statement uses a condition to select, or determine, the next line of the program that is to be executed.
       • CALCULATE totalCost IF (totalCost > $10) THEN OUTPUT 'no delivery charge' ELSE OUTPUT '$5 delivery charge' ENDIF OUTPUT 'thankyou'
   • Iteration
     • Iteration is also called repetition and is used when something is repeated over and over again, so anything where the program goes round in a loop.
       • DECLARE count SET count TO 0 FOR count = 1 to 10 OUTPUT count END FOR OUTPUT ‘finished’
   • Modularisation
     • Modularisation is used to reduce the complexity of a system by deconstructing it into independent units or modules.

   • Colossal Cave Advebture
     • Strengths: environmental storytelling, and complex puzzle design
     • Weaknesses: Terrible mechanics, inventory limits, and hard to navigate

   • Escape Darth Sidious
   • Player health bar
   • Store Player name
   • Lightning when you get caught.

6. Self-Determined Criteria

   • You must use a user interface that is easy to navigate for the sci-fi game
     • Requirements: Create a sci-fi game, Have a user interface that doesn't show more than 3 options for each thing
