     • Allows everyone to feel involved and that they get their say
     • Large number of people can reply in short time
   • Disadvantages
     • Rigid structure
     • Does not allow individual points t be made
     • Person can feel railroaded
     • poor return

2. Observation

   • Advantages
     • Able to see bad/ good parts of system
     • Can see the system with fresh eyes
     • information workers may not feel important
   • Disadvantages
     • Workers might not act normally
     • Might not see any abnormal procedures
     • The business might be cyclical

3. Interviews

   • Advantages
     • allows departure from main script
     • Person can expand on certain points
     • Makes people feel fully involved
   • Disavantages
     • Restricts number of people due to time
     • only gives certain peoples veiw point
     • Hard to see bias
     • Not cost effective

4. Collection of Documentation

   • Advantages
     • find out...
       • Data needed for input
       • What form information is outputted
     • Shows what managers / workers find acceptable
   • Disadvantages
     • Present documentation may not be effective
     • Can be difficult to understand without further description
