1. Encryption is when you are able to send a message to someone else without anyone knowing.

   • Hides personal data like passwords and payments.

2. You can encrypt a message by using a different code and decoding it by using a key.

3. Fire Wall

   • Prevents harmful data entering your computer
   • Used to protect a computer network from intruders
   • Controls which programs can send and receive data packets
   • Used when program is trying to connect to another network

4. Anti Virus Software

   • Needs updating regularly to make sure that it knows the latest threats
   • Scans the computer periodically.
   • Should be used on email attached and downloads
   • Quarantines any programs can send and receives data packets
   • Protects against malicious software

5. A Fire Wall controls which programs can send and receive data packets

6. Encryption turns a message into scrambled up code. It makes a normal message unreadable without a key. When you have a key you can then decipher the message so you can read and understand it.

7. You encrypt a message by making a key for example A=D, B=E, C=F then you write your message using different letters that you can decipher the datapacket you write will be unreadable when it hasn't been desipherd.

8. When you recieve the encrypted message you can decipher a message by working out the key it is easy if you are told it but if you aren't then look at the first word ans see how many letters it has a try to work it out

9. We use encryption so it protects our data and so know one can get to it other than the person we might send it to.

10. Anti-virus and firewall are needed to protet your computer therefore no virus' can reach your personal data or hack into any of your private information.

11. The consequenes for not having firewall or anti-virus is that someone can hack into your personal data.

Make sure that you have got anti virus software and fire wall so if there is any tabs that open on your computer saying download therefore it may crash your computer if it is safe it will download in order to do that it has to get through the fire wall and the anti virus software systems. so make sure you don't add and free downloas unless you know what it is and what it will dot o your computer

13. If you download an attachment if it is a homework attachment it is most likely to be safe to open some times if you have found it on a website it is not therefore you shouldn't download an attachment unless you know what it is or where it is going to take you.

14. If you are about to log in to your face book account or any other social medias check if there is https the s stands for secure so if it has that it means it is safe therefore if you log on othing would happen although if it doesnt and you log in someone who made the website will get all of your log in and your password then they will hack into your account and they will get all of your deatails.

15. If you are buying something online MAKE SURE IT HAS HTTPS in the search bar if it doesn't then people want to get your personal details and want to get your bank details so they can basically steal oall of your money therefore allways check before you do something like you should anyway.

16. There is an app to check how secure your password is the more capital letters symbols and numbers there are the more secure your password will be therefore you should have a strong password not a weak one.

17. Malware

    • A worm is a computer program that can stand alone it replicates itself so that is can access other computers it is a standard malware software.

18. Quarantine your files means isolating your files so they don,t spread to other files.

19. periodically means completing a task regularly like logging into your Facebook account everyday at 8pm

20. Phishing is a website that looks genuine but the URL is slightly different and it takes you somewhere that askes for your details and then someone then has your details and they can get into your bank account and then you have no body.

    • You can stop this happening by not clicking on links on an email, and if it doesn't have a green padlock on it is not secure.
