- CONDITIONAL TYPE 0
- In conditional sentences of type 0 ( "zero conditional"), the verb tense in both propositions is the "simple present".
- Proposición "if" (condición)"If" + "simple present
- Proposición principal (resultado)"simple present"that thing happens.
- "that thing happens.
- As with all conditional sentences, the order of propositions is not fixed. It may be necessary to modify pronouns and punctuation by reversing the order of propositions but the meaning of the sentence will not change. In the sentences of "zero conditional" you can substitute "if" for "when" without affecting the meaning, since both terms serve to express general facts.
- EXAMPLES: - When you heat ice, it melts. -I f it rains, the grass gets wet.

- In conditional sentences of type 0 ( "zero conditional"), the verb tense in both propositions is the "simple present".
- In a conditional sentence of type 1, the verb of the proposition "if" goes in "simple present", whereas the one of the main clause goes in "simple future".
- Proposition "if" (condition)If + simple present

- that thing will happen.
- As with all conditional sentences, the order of propositions is not fixed. It may be necessary to modify pronouns and punctuation by changing the order of clauses but the meaning of the sentence does not change.

- Proposition "if" (condition)If + simple present
- CONDITIONAL TYPE 0
- In a conditional sentence of type 3, the verb tense of the "if" proposition is the "past perfect" and that of the main clause may be "perfect conditional" or "perfect continuous conditional."
- Proposition "if + past perfect
- main propositionperfect conditional" o "perfect continuous conditional"
- that thing would have happened.
- The "conditional type 3" refers to an impossible condition, located temporarily in the past, and to its probable result in the past. These sentences are certainly hypothetical and unreal because, at this time, it is too late for the condition or its outcome to occur. The type 3 conditional almost always implies some regret or something we regret. Reality is the opposite or the opposite of what is expressed in the sentence. In conditional sentences of type 3 the temporal frame is the past and the situation is hypothetical.
- EXAMPLES: If I had known you were coming I would have baked a cake. (But I didn't know and I didn't bake a cake.)
