Probability

Probability

1. Basic concepts

   • Sample space: set of all possible outcomes
   • Event: any such of the sample space
   • Experiments: any observation or measurement of a random phenomenon
   • Outcomes: possible result of the sample space

2. "Not" and "Or"

   • Properties of probability
     • certain event
     • impossible event
     • probability vaule
   • Addition rule
     • P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AandB)
   • Mutually exclusive
     • P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)

3. "And"

   • Multiplication Rule of Probability
     • Any two events
       • P(A&B)=P(A)*P(B/A)
     • Independent events
       • P(AandB)=P(A)*P(B)

4. Venn Diagrams

   • Union
   • Complementary
   • Intersection
   • Difference
