Off the Job Training

  1. Advantages

    • Off the job training means that employees respond better as they are away from the stress and pressures of the working environment. This means that employees can get more work done and to a higher standard as they are not distracted by their own work.
    • As off the job requires the employee to go to a qualified centre it means that they can actually gain qualifications and certificates from learning the work. this means that if they apply for another job they ca show that they have a certain qualification that will help them for the job and so could get the job.
    • Lastly off the job training means that the trainers can deal more easily with groups employees at the same time rather in their workplace as they all have different responsibilities to look for at their jobs. This means that they can get a more in-depth understanding of what to do
  2. Disadvantages

    • A major disadvantage of off the job training is that it can be very expensive. Which means that the employer wouldn't want to spend much money on training their employees. The price would be a put off to many employers.
    • Also off the job training means time away from the workplace for the employees. As a result of this it means that employees work is not getting done and this could mean that the business loses out in profit.
    • Lastly off the job training can be ineffective and unconnected to the employees actual roles in work. This means that the employee could be learning skills to use for another job as the trainer isn't fully aware of the conditions in which they work which could be time consuming and unbeneficial.
