ENLARGING SHAPES

1. SCALE FACTORS

   • A multiplayer that is used to ENLARGE the LENGTH of EVERY side of the shape.
     • if you are asked to find the scale factor, always start with the original shape.

2. ON A COORDINATE GRID

   • draw the guidelines from every corner of the shape (where the lines cross) - the centre of enlargement.
     • THEN compare the height of the shape to find the scale factor.

3. FRACTIONAL ENLARGEMENT

   • ENLARGE by a scale factor of half the corner. This will give you HALF the distance from the centre of enlargement.
