UNIT 1-CHEMISTRY 1

1. Lesson 1: Atoms are the fundamental building blocks of matter. Students will study the structure of the atom and the main theories that led to the current atomic model. An experimental demonstration of the cathode ray tube and the colors of the flame produced by the chemical elements will also be developed. Then we will see in more detail some of the key experiments that led to the discovery of electrons and the nuclear model of the atom. Finally, we will see the modern theory of atomic structure, as well as the concepts of atomic number, mass number and isotope.
