From Reality to Model

From Reality to Model

1. shouldn’t that be the other way around?

   • just by walking by the processes on the floor
     • I can see waste
       • motion
       • waiting
       • over-processing

2. typical method of improving

   • the traditional Toyota Production System tools.
     • observation
     • time study
     • video for motion analysis
     • standardized work charts
     • production capacity calculations
   • Are effective for process improvement

3. Using ProModel

   • In Eastern Kentucky University’s Applied Engineering and Management class, we follow this progression.
     • process observation
     • visualization skill using the standard Toyota
       • mass production.
   • serves to
     • tune our processes
     • opportunities for optimization
