COMPUTATIONAL THINKING
to understand the problem and find solutions
Decomposition
- to break down a problem into smaller parts so it is more manageable and easy to understand.
- How iis it used ?
- by considering every detail of the situation such as what, where, how, when, which, etc. so it can be examined
Logical reasoning
- to explain WHY something is the way it is, because of previous knowledge
- How is it used in computing?
- to predict the outcomes of the algorithms that are designed to solve a problem, to help select the best solution
Problem
- situation, person, or thing that needs attention and needs to be dealt with or solved
Abstraction
- process of deciding which details we need to highlight and which don´t.
Algorithm
- sequence of instructions to get something done
- EXAMPLES
- -when you take a photo.
- when you bake a pie
- -to take the fastest route from home to school
- - when you make a sandwich
- when you open a package of cookies.
Pattern recognition
- to find similiarities or patterns among decomposed problems so they can be solved more efficiently.
