1. nucleus

   • Protons: positive charge and have 1 amu
   • Neutrons: 0 charge and have 1 amu

2. electron cloud

   • Electrons: negative charge and have 0.0005 amu

3. Octet Rule

   • the main group elements have a tendency to participate in chemical bonding in such a way that each atom of the resulting molecule has eight electrons in the valence shell.

4. Lewis dot structure

   • representation of a molecule where dots are used to show electron positions around the atoms and lines or dot pairs represent covalent bonds between atoms.
