1. Uses

   • The zero conditional is used to make statements about the real world, and usually refers to general truths, such as scientific facts.
     • It can also be used to give instructions while using it in an imperative form.
       • For example: If you feel sick, go to the doctor.

2. Gramatical Structure

   • The gramatical structure used for the zero conditional is:
     • If + subject + simple present + , (comma) + subject + simple present
       • The 2 sentences order can vary:
         • If we start with the 2 sentences result that you are trying to express, then there is no need for a comma.
         • If we start with the condition (if), we separate both sentences with a comma.

3. Concept

   • Conditionals are often called 'if clauses'. They describe the result of something that might happen (in the present or future) or might have happened but didn't (in the past).
     • It's necessary to use "If" to correctly use conditionals.
     • The 0 conditional in specific, is used when the result will always happen. The result of the 'if clause' is always the main clause.
       • The time in which we refer to an action in the zero conditional is in that moment or as something that always happens.
       • The situation needs to be real and possible.

4. Examples

   • If babies are scared, they cry
   • If you mix yellow and blue, you get green.
   • If you freeze water, it turns into ice.
   • Water boils if it reaches 100ºC.
