PARALLEL LINES:-
If two lines in a plane do not intersect each other , they are called parallel lines.
- Example:-Two tall buildings in a neighborhood , opposite edges of a rectangular table ,etc.
- There are mainly of 6 types of parallel lines.
- CORRESPONDING ANGLES:-The angles which occupy the same relative position at each intersection where a straight line crosses two others are called corresponding angles
- CONSECUTIVE INTERIOR ANGLES:-When two lines are cut by a transversal, the pair of angles on one side of the transversal and inside the two lines are called the consecutive interior angles.
- VERTICAL ANGLES:- Each of the pairs of opposite angles made by two intersecting lines are called vertical angles
- ALTERNATE EXTERIOR ANGLES:- Alternate exterior angles are formed when a line intersects two or more lines at distinct points. The term exterior means something which is situated externally.
- LINEAR PAIR ANGLES:A linear pair of angles is formed when two lines intersect. Two angles are said to be linear if they are adjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines. The measure of a straight angle is 180 degrees, so a linear pair of angles must add up to 180 degrees.
- ALTERNATE INTERIOR ANGLES:-Alternate angles are angles that are in opposite positions relative to a transversal intersecting two lines. If the alternate angles are between the two lines intersected by the transversal, they are called alternate interior angles.
- There are mainly of 6 types of parallel lines.
- Example:-Two tall buildings in a neighborhood , opposite edges of a rectangular table ,etc.
