2. Definition

   • It is a technical instrument that takes the form of a colloquial dialogue.
     • Interpersonal communication established between the researcher and the subject of study, in order to obtain verbal answers to the questions posed about the proposed problem
   • Is a very useful technique in qualitative research to collect data.

3. Types

   • Semi-structured
     • It combines closed questions with open-ended questions.
     • It is a freer interview in the development of conversation and topics.
     • The interviewer sets an initial script.
       • The formulation of new questions is allowed from the information provided by the interviewee.
   • Structured
     • The interviewer organizes and pre-plans the questions he will ask, according to the objective of his research.
     • It contains closed questions whose order cannot be modified.
     • It does not allow the formulation of new questions or comments.
   • Unstructured
     • This interview does not start from a predefined script.
     • The interview is structured according to how the conversation progresses.

4. Data analysis

   • Thematic analysis
     • Identify topics from the patterns of the answers and draw conclusions for each one.
   • Affinity diagrams
     • Identify relationships and hierarchies in information together.
   • Narrative analysis
     • Analyze through the construction of user stories that revolve around their needs and their possible obstacles.
   • Deduction
     • Validation of pre-established hypotheses prior to the research.
