1. CPU

   • CPU stands for Central Processing Unit
   • It is the 'Brains' of the computer. It is responsible for executing a sequence of stored instructions called a program.
   • It has the ALU and the CU
     • The CU is the control unit
     • The ALU performs simple Arithmetic and logic operations.

2. RAM

   • RAM stands for Random Access Memory
   • RAM is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly.
   • The GUI, The Operating System and applications are all stored on the RAM

3. ROM

   • The ROM stands for Read Only Memory
   • ROM stores the instructions for the computer to start again.
   • ROM is non-volatile because it does not need power to be maintained.

4. MotherBoard

   • A MotherBoard is a printed circuit board which contains the principal components of a computer.
   • The MotherBoard holds together many of the crucial components of a computer including the CPU
