Middleware

1. It is software that is assembled to a pipeline of an application to control requests and responses.

   • Each component can do the following
     • Choose whether to pass the request to the next component in the pipeline.
     • Perform work before and after invoking the next component in the pipeline. pipeline

2. Writing

   • This is usually encapsulated in a class and is exposed with an an extension method.
   • It should follow the principle of explicit dependencies by exposing its dependencies in the constructor. Middleware is built once per application lifetime.
   • Middleware components can resolve the dependencies of a dependency insertion by constructor parameters.

3. Middlewares build the request pipeline. The following figure illustrates the ASP.NET Core request processing.
