   • Salmonella Typhi

2. Controls & Prevention

   • Controls
     • Antibiotics
     • Frequently washing hands after toilet use
   • Prevention
     • Vaccination
     • Health education on hand hygiene

3. Period of Communicability

   • It is communicable as long as the organism is still present in the stool
     • Some Patients can become permanent carriers

4. Mode of Transmission

   • Faecel-Oral Only affects Humans

5. Signs & Symptoms

   • Severe Diarrhoea
   • Headache
   • Stomach pains
   • High temperature
   • Fever
   • Sore throat

6. Incubation Period

   • 8 to 14 days
