ENERGIES
RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGI
- SOLAR POWER
- These technologi transforms ultraviolet sunlight into electricity by using two semiconductor materials
- Solar energy is energy obtained from the sun in the form of electromagnetic radiation (light, heat and ultraviolet rays). By installing solar panels or collectors, it can be used to obtain thermal energy (photothermal system) or to generate electricity (photovoltaic system).
- The sun’s rays heat the pipes and the inside of the box in general. The water gets hot because the pipe is hot.
- HYDROELECTRIC DAMS
- Wite more than 120 hydroelectric plants in operation and almost 10,823 MW of installed power, we supply clean and renewable hydroelectric energi to some 7.6 million homes in the country thansk to this technology
- A HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER STATION HAS A DAM, WICH ACCUMULATES WATER AND RAISES THE LEVEL OF THE WATER. THE TUBE PASES THROUGH THE DAM AND WATER FLOWS TO THE EXIT.
- BEFORE THE EXIT OF THE TUBE, THE WATER PASSES THROUGH A TURBINE AND THE WATER MOVES THE TURBINE. AND THE TURBINE MOVES AN ELECTRIC GENERATOR.
- WIND POWER
- Wind energy is a form of renewable energy that is obtained by harnessing the power of the wind to generate electricity. This energy has been used for thousands of years to drive the first sailing ships or move the propellers of windmills.
- Wind energy is a renewable energy source, it does not pollute, is inexhaustible and reduces the use of fossil fuels, the source of greenhouse emissions that cause global warming.
- On land, wind energy has been used in windmills to grind wheat or to pump water from wells. At sea, on the other hand, the wind has allowed the sails to be deployed, providing humans with the opportunity to explore the planet aboard a boat.

NON-RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGI
- CRUDE OIL
- Tiny sea plants and animals died and buried on the ocean floor. They didn’t completely decompose because there wasn’t enough oxygen in the water. Over time, they were covered by layers of and rocks. sediments
- Over millions of years, the remainds where buried deeper and deeper. The enormous pressure and heat turn them into oil and gas.
- Today, we drill down throught the layers of sedimentary rock that contains oil and gas deposit.
- NATURAL GAS
- DESAVANTAGES
- IS DIFFICULT TO STORE IS DIFFICULT TO TRANSPORT, SO UNTIL 1980’s WE LIQUEFIED AND IN THIS WAY WE CAN TRANSPORT IT BY SHIPS OR ALONG GAS PIPES.
- ADVANTAGES
- RELATIVE CLEAN, BECAUSE OF THE THREE FOSSIL FUELS, NATURAL GAS PRODUCES THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CARBON DIOXIDE WHEN WE BURN IT. AND ALSO IT DOESN’T CONTAIN SULPHUR, SO IT DOESN’T PRODUCE SULPHUR OXIDES.
- We transport natural gas into the boiler. The natural gas is burned and the heat produces steam. The steam turbine transforms heat into movement . The steam turbine moves a generator, and it transforms movement into electricity.
- DESAVANTAGES
- COAL
- Coal is a fossil fuel, the final result of a series of transformations on plant remains accumulated in swampy places, lagoons and river deltas, mainly during the carboniferous period of the primary era
- Charcoal originates from the decomposition of terrestrial plants, leaves, wood, bark and spores that accumulate in swampy, lagoonal or shallow marine areas, in a process that takes several million years.
- Coal has many uses around the world. Its most important uses are electricity generation, steel production, cement manufacturing and liquid fuel production.
- NUCLEAR POWER
- Nuclear energy is a form of energy that is released from the nucleus or central part of atoms, which consists of protons and neutrons. This source of energy can be produced in two ways: through fission (when the nuclei of atoms split into several parts) or through fusion (when they fuse).
- How is nuclear energy generated? Use nuclear fission—that is, the enormous amount of energy caused by the chain reaction in which the nucleus of a heavy atom, uranium or plutonium, splits into two or more nuclei of lighter atoms—to generate electricity
- called Nuclear Nuclear energy is the energy released as a result of the reaction that occurs when heavy atomic nuclei split. This is also Fission.
