Super Smash Bros Algorithm
prescribed criteria
- develop an algorithm using psuedocode conventions
- Develop an algorithm for one of the Nintendo games - Super Smash bros or Mario kart
- Pseudocode conventions must be used in the algorithm. Such as all keywords are in bold and capitalised, use indentation when a code belongs to a particular block of code START and END should be at the beginning and end of the algorithm
- Examples of keyword for pseudocodes are IF/IF ELSE, IS EQUAL TO, START, END, THEN WHILE
- super smash bros
- develop an ultimate high dammage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the player
- Create a high damage strategy for super smash bros character kirby
- Strategy should be offensive, which means we do not need to create defensive moves
- Moves should ultimately finish and eliminate the opponent
- Use five (5) conditions (IF, ELSEIF, ELSE) in your pseudocode
- The pseudocode must include 5 unique moves to damage the opponent using IF, ELIF AND ELSE
- develop an ultimate high dammage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the player
- develop an algorithm using psuedocode conventions
algorithm constructs
- sequence
- sequence is a list or instructions displayed in a certain order
- e.g sequence for special side move, hit, punch, hit , move to side In this example we can see that there is a certain sequence. required in order to perform the special side move
- sequence is a list or instructions displayed in a certain order
- assignment
- an assignment is a variable which is a name or a lable that stores data and information, is assigned a value
- START, DECLARE Username, SET Username TO “Toad”, OUTPUT “Enjoy the game, Toad” END. In this example Username is the variable and Toad is the value
- an assignment is a variable which is a name or a lable that stores data and information, is assigned a value
- selection
- Choses the next step of the algorithm and what happens next in the game
- START INPUT race results IF Mario won THEN OUTPUT message “Mario is the champion!” ENDIF STOP In this example the next step or selection is to show the message that Mario won the game, but this only happen if the condition is met.
- Choses the next step of the algorithm and what happens next in the game
- condition
- A statement which can be true of false and determines whether the selection sentence will happen or not.
- START IF Mario is near Luigi’s house THEN OUTPUT Mario visits Luigi for lunch ELSE OUTPUT Mario doesn’t visit anyone ENDIF END In this example the condition is that Mario must be near Luigi’s house in order for the selection to happen
- A statement which can be true of false and determines whether the selection sentence will happen or not.
- iteration
- Also known as repetition and determines how long or how many times the program loops for
- START FOR 7 steps INPUT Jump up and forward ENDFOR END In this example the word for is used when it is known exactly when to stop the loop. However this for not the only code that is used for iteration words like while and repeat can also be used
- Also known as repetition and determines how long or how many times the program loops for
- sequence
chosen character moves
- Burning Kirby
- Dash attack, launches a flaming dash that deals 12% damage

- pros
- sonic
- pros
- high speed and recovery rate which means easy to doge attacks and lower chance of instant death form opponents

- lack of killing moves and high tendency to be "edgegaurded" by opponents which blocks sonic to returning safely
- pros
- kirby
