1. What is it?

   • An algorithm is an step by step procedure for solving a problemor accomplishing someend

2. When do we use it?

   • We use them for solving problems giving specific instructions in order for reaching the objetive

3. What are the characteristics of an algorithm?

   • They have to be:
     • o In specific order
     • o Had a start and end
     • o Precission: defined
     • o Uniqueness: results of each step are uniquely defined and only depend in the input and the result of the proceding steps
     • o Finitiness
     • Input
     • Output

4. Example:

   • How to printer
     • Verify if there is a printer connected to the computer
     • Select a document that you want to print
     • Push the botton print that its located in the top left part
     • Select if you want a print in colors or with black tint
     • Push the botton print and wait
     • Remove the papers form the printer
     • Put paper in the printer
   • Engineer
     • How to build a house
       • 2. Develop a plan where you can locate the areas that will contain the house
       • 1. Verify that the field has the necessary conditions to build something
       • 3. Start digging to put foundations
       • 4. After cement, plastering begins
