   • A type of electromagnetic radiation (EM radiation)
   • Radiation is just a transfer of energy
   • Visible light is light that our eyes can detect
     • Goes from red to violet
       • Raidtion that goes past the 'red' direction
         • Called 'infrared'
       • Radiation that goes past the 'violet' direction
         • Called 'ultraviolet'
     • Part of the electromagnetic spectrum
       • In the middle

   • There are 7 different types of radiation altogether
     • Make up the electromagnetic spectrum
       • The electromagnetic spectrum
       • Long wavelength
         • Low frequency
           • Low energy
             • Increasing energy and frequency
               • Short wavelength
                 • High frequency
                   • High energy
     • Radio Waves
     • Microwaves
     • Infrared
     • Visible Light
     • Ultraviolet
     • X-Rays
     • Gamma Rays
   • All types of electromagnetic radiation transfer energy
     • EG. You can feel the warmth of the sun
       • Heat energy is moving through the space as infrared radiation
       • Can't see the 'heat' travelling through space
     • Transferring energy
       • Energy is delivered by photons
         • Photons are 'packets' of energy
           • A tiny droplet of energy
           • Like a very fine shower, except with droplets of energy
       • Like a 'wave'

3. Types of EM Radiation transfer more energy than others

   • Each photon carries a tiny quantity of energy
     • But not all carry the same amount
       • The amount of energy depends on the frequency of the radiation
       • Frequency (photon energy) increases as you go along the spectrum
         • Radio wave photons have the lowest frequency
           • Least energy
         • Gamma ray photons have the highest frequency
           • Most energy
