Image resolution
- The image resolution is measured in DPI (Dpi stands for dots per inch) If the image has a higher DPI, then there will be more pixels needed.
colour depth
- The colour depth is the amount of binary that gets stored for each image.
Image size
- The image size also knows as the dimentions is Measured in pixels (width x height)
Metadata
- The metadata stores information about the image so that the computer is able to process the the binary data.
Vector images
- Vector images store a set of instructions about how to draw each shape in the image. These types of images are good for simple geometric shapes.
Compressing images
- You can compress an image to make the file size smaller. you can do this by taking a part of the image that is all the same colour and reduce the colour depth in each pixel.
Bitmap images
- A bitmap image is a collection of pixels. When you make a bitmap image larger it just enlarges each pixel. If you enlarge this image to much then the image will Pixelate.
