1. Analysis

   • analysis stage is where the systems analyst will have a meeting with the client

2. Design

   • design stage working out some of the important details of the program

3. Implementation

   • The actual program code is written at the implementation stage

4. Testing

   • Once the program has been written it is necessary to test the program for any errors

5. Documentation

   • Documentation is produced to assist users with the installation and features of the software

6. Evaluation

   • When the program is complete it needs to be evaluated.

7. Maintenance

   • There are three types of maintenance: Corrective - Will fix any errors that are discovered in the program. Perfective - Will add new features to the program. Adaptive - Changes are made to the program to take account of new conditions
