2.1 - Mind Map
2.1.1
- Abstraction
- Why is it needed?
- What is it?
- It allows a problem to split up into its core ideas and concepts to simplify it and make it easier/possible to solve. It allows for the removal of unnecessary information.
- APIE
- Abstraction
- Polymorphism
- A single code that can handle many different types of data - Increases reusability
- Inheritance
- Making code "Classes" that can be used to make objects that come under that class (Classes contain concepts). For example a "VW" object would inherit the "Car" class which contains the data of having an engine and four wheels.
- Encapsulation
- AKA. "Blackboxing" allows segmentation of code and vairables to prevent unintended changes and increase secuirty/reliabilty.
- Abstraction
2.1.2
- Inputs/Outputs
- What inputs/outputs are needed to solve a problem?
- Reusability
- How does it help?
- Why is it needed?
- Preconditions (Requirements)
- What do we need to solve the problem?
- Inputs/Outputs
2.1.3
- Splitting a problem up into logical components
- Working out a logical and efficient order to solve the components of the problem
- Identify any sub-processes that can be implements in order to improve efficiency
2.1.4
- Identify parts of a program where decisions have to made
- Determine what logic needs to be implemented into the decision.
- Determine how said decisions will alter program flow
2.1.5
- Determine areas of a problem that can be solved/completed simultaneously
- What issues can concurrent processing cause?
