2. Pulmonary

   • Volutrauma
     • PREVENTION: *Use small Vt of less than 6-10mL/kg of body weight (4-6mL/kg of predicted body weight in ARDS)
   • Barotrauma
     • PREVENTION: * Use smaller Vt * Avoid unecessarily high PEEP *Prevent auto PEEP by monitoring airway pressure, inc expiratory time, minimizing exp flow obstructions and min high airway pressure

3. Multisystem

   • HOB 30
     • Maintain 30-45 degrees to prevent gastric distension and aspiration
   • Early mobilization
     • To reduce risk of VTE, UTI and pressure ulcers
   • Oral Care
     • provide oral care with a CH soln to reduce colonization of oropharynx
   • ABCDEF Bundle
     • Manage pain and sedation, prevent delirium, avoid prolonged ventilation, and encourage mobility and family engagement

4. Gastrointestinal
