Hierarchical Regression

1. Ordered entry of subsets of predictors, as determined by research purpose

2. Used for hypothesis testing

3. Subsets may be one or more predictors, chosen by logical reasoning

4. NOTE: Covariance analysis is hierarchical regression

5. Enables you to control for variables statistically

6. Other uses:

   • Testing if, with some predictors already included, the further addition of a subset of predictors represent a significant contribution or not
