A mid ocean ridge is a mountain range that forms underwater as a result of volcanic activity

A mid ocean ridge forms when two plates pull apart causing a fissure in the earths crust

magma tavels up through the fissure where it cools and harden when it meaets cold seawater

following a series of eruptions the ocean floor is built up to form a ridge of volcanic mountains
