DEVICES
In IT for Computer Week, we had to learn about Input and Output devices.
An Input Device is an object, that inputs electrical waves, into an Output or Storage Device.
An Output Device is an object, that outputs the electrical waves, from the Storage or Input Device.
A Storage Device is an object, that Stores the electrical waves, for you so that the Output Device can output it later.
A Device can be Input, Output or Storage.
MONITOR
A Monitor is an Output Device, because the Monitor displays what has been Inputed into it (in this case by a keyboard) by an Input Device. It is not a Storage Device, as all Information the Monitor uses, is stored in the Hard Drive.
KEYBOARD
A Keyboard is an Input Device, because the Keyboard sends electrical waves, to the Output Device (in this case the Monitor). It is not a Storage Device as it passes on its information to the Output Device.
CAMERA
A Camera an Input, Output and Storage Device, because the Camera Inputs its own Information to itself, then it can either pass it on to an Output Device (like a Monitor) or keep it and store it, in its SD card. Its an Output, as it can Output its information, to the User, using its own screen.
HARD DRIVE
A Hard Drive is a Storage Device, because the Hard Drive Stores the Monitors Information for it (that's why a Monitor is not a Storage Device) to then use later. The Hard Drive stores the information, until it is needed at a later date. It could be stored on Wednesday and outputted again (on the Monitor in this case) on Friday. That is why the Hard Drive is a Storage Device.
SKY REMOTE
The Sky Remote is a Input Device, because it inputs information (electrical waves) into the Sky Box (then the Sky Box outputs it to the television). It doesn`t store or output, but it inputs. The Sky Remote is used, when someone wants to Output something but they need to use the Input Device (Sky Remote) to send signals which will then make the Sky Box input signals into the television so then the television can output it on to the screen. That is why a Sky Remote is an Input Device.
SKY BOX
The Sky Box is an Input Device not an Output Device. This is because the Sky Box inputs electrical signals (information) into the Television and then the Television`s screen (basically the television) outputs it onto its screen. The Sky Box does not Output the images only supiles them to the Television. However the Sky Box is a Storage Device, as the Television does not store the Sky Channels. That is why the Sky Box is an Input and Storage Device.
TELEVISION
The Television is an Output and Storage Device. This is because the Television Outputs the electrical signals the Remote/Console/CD player gives it. Then it is transfered to the Television`s Screen. That is how the Television is Output Device... But what about Storage? The Television is a Storage Device as if you are going through channels on your Television (not box/console) the channels that were put on your Television are stored thats why people tune their televisiond to get the Data (electrical signals) back! The Television is an Output and Storage Device.
