PRESENT
The present simple is used to talk about permanent, routines and habits.
-Maria goes to the beach every Sunday.
Mary goes to the beach every Sunday.
* Recuerda que la tercera persona del Presente Simple lleva '-s'. Además, necesitamos el auxiliar (do/does) para formar la interrogativa y negativa.
The present continuous of usa to talk about actions that are occurring during or around the time in that it speaks.-Matt is cleaning the House at this time.
Matt is cleaning the house at the moment.
* Recuerda que lo formamos con la forma correspondiente del verbo 'to be' seguido de un verbo terminado en '-ing'.
The 'Present Perfect' (or present perfect) is mainly used to discuss actions that occurred in the past and have some effect on the present.
-They have spent the day in a park. -She has worked throughout the day.
Recordatorios:
PAST
The 'Simple Past' (or Simple past), is used to talk about past actions, which have completed concrete sometime in the past.
-Forms with the form verb base adding '_ed' termination. When we talk about the form base we refer to the infinitive without the preposition 'to', i.e. of the verb 'to watch' the form base would be 'watch', and its past form would be 'watched'.
AFFIRMATIVE: To form the affirmative put the form base with '_ed'.
*Ellas hablaron ayer-They talked yesterday.
NEGATIVE: To form the negative we need the auxiliary 'do' in the past, that would be 'did'. We find both the full form 'did not' and 'didn't' contracted form.
*Ellas no hablaron ayer.-They didn’t talk yesterday.
QUESTION: To form the question we have to invest the auxiliary and the subject, i.e., we invest the auxiliary 'did' and the subject.
*¿Hablaron ellas ayer?-Did they talk yesterday?
Recordatorios:
-El pasado suele ir acompañado de expresiones de tiempo, como 'yesterday, last year, last month, last week, two days ago, in 2001, etc'.
- En pasado la tercera persona se mantiene igual.
- Para formar la negativa e interrogativa necesitamos de los auxiliares de pasado.
FUTURE
Future times are those times that are used to talk about things that will take place in the future. Let's see the forms of future comparative way.
GOING TO: Used to talk of plans in the future. Remember that normally translates as ' go to + main verb '.
-I'm going to visit Lanzarote next week.
We WILL FUTURE: We use the modal 'will' to make predictions about the future. Translated as a simple future (I.e. will go > go)-I think I'll go to University in the future.
Recordatorios
-Recuerda que tanto 'will' como 'going to' se utiliza para hacer predicciones, pero se diferencian en que 'will' se usa para creencias mientras que el 'going to' se usa para predicciones basadas en algo evidente.
-Cuando hablamos de intenciones debemos recordar que 'will' indica una decisión espontánea, mientras que el 'going to' implica algo planeado.
