Java Servlet technology provides dynamic, user-oriented content in web applications using a request-response programming model.

What Is a Servlet: A servlet is a Java programming language class used to extend the capabilities of servers that host applications accessed by means of a request-response programming model.

use javax.servlet and javax.servlet.http for writing servlet

must implement servlet interface ,defines lifecycle method

to use generic service you have to use GenericServlet class

http servlet provides doGet and doPost methods.

Servlet Lifecycle:

if instance of servlet does not exists then web container

load servlet class

create instance of that class

Initilize the servlet instance by calling init method.

invoke service method by passing request and response objects,

to remove servlet web container finally call method destroy method.
