Web design is an ambiguous term

Web design meant creating HTML pages

Seven rules of web design

Web professionals define it differently all the time

One person could define it as programming

Another could define design as the development of appearance that gives an idea of the company or individual it represents.

Content and functionality were hard-coded on every page

Today's environment involves creating dynamic websites that use other programming languages to:

Interact with databases and browsers, along with pages, graphics, and CSS

There are seven basic rules that, if followed, will help a beginning or intermediate designer become a professional:

1. Web technology offers many options and tools for building websites

2. There is almost always an exception. There are rarely absolutes in web design.

3. Users are the final judges.

4. Cross-experience is something a designer should always strive for.

5. Humility is the best approach. Because there are so many complexities in web design

6. It is impossible to please everyone.

7. Try to stay abreast of specifications and standards

For example, this could happen if you used Flash to animate a site logo.

While the company may want to display its new logo, the user may not care. or want to see it move every time you hit a page

The designer must be careful to discard a technology or design method simply because did not work for another site

Opinions are never lacking when a site is in design

While an experienced designer may think that a site should work or look a certain way, the chief designer may think differently

The bottom line is that users are the bottom line.

The site must make sense to them, so the site must be designed withthem in mind

Web design requires an understanding of user needs

The designer personally believes that the aesthetic and technical aspects of the site should be designed.

It is important to make a form easy to use and attractive

A designer must sometimes take a position to maintain certain functional and aesthetic aspects of a design.

Specifications and web standards are constantly changing and will continue to do so.

The designer must have an understanding of the latest techniques, which will affect future work
