- 1What elements are in the noble gases?helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), and the radioactive radon (Rn).

- 3Electrons in outer shellThe noble gases have a full outer shell, which can be 2, 8 or even 18 in the outermost shell
- 4PropertiesThey are all odourless, colourless, monatomic(atoms not bound to each other) gases with very low chemical reactivity
- 5ReactivityFull shell results in very little tendency to be involved in chemical reactions
- 6StabilityThe noble gases are very stable in every sense due to the full outer shell giving very little valency
- 7Other propertiesThe melting and boiling points for a given noble gas are close together, meaning they are liquids over only a small temperature range.
- 8RadonIs a radioactive element, and due to less electromagnetic forces participates in reactions easier
