  5. 5What is the purpose of a power supply? The power supply supplies the electrical power for a computer. It supplies power to the motherboard, drives, and certain expansion cards. It normally has at least one fan that helps cool the power supply and will assist in the task of cooling the computer.
  6. 6What is the purpose of the computer case?A PC case serves an important function for any desktop computer user. It protects, mounts and contains all of the computer's main components. This includes everything from the hard drive to the motherboard, and the case also usually comes with a power supply.
  7. 7What is the purpose of the motherboard?A motherboard is one of the most essential parts of a computer system. It holds together many of the crucial components of a computer, including the central processing unit (CPU), memory and connectors for input and output devices.
  8. 8What is the purpose of the Processor?Processor. A processor, or "microprocessor," is a small chip that resides in computers and other electronic devices. 10. 10What is the purpose of ROM?ROM is also a type of non-volatile storage, which means that the information is maintained even if the component loses power. In a typical computer system, ROM is located on the motherboard, shown in the right of the picture. It contains the basic instructions for what needs to happen when a computer is powered on
  11. 11What is the purpose of the Hard Drive?Hard Disk Drives (HDD) Hard disk drives have been the dominant type of storage since the early days of computers. 12. 12What is a repetitive strain injury (RSI) and what causes them?ROM is also a type of non-volatile storage, which means that the information is maintained even if the component loses power. In a typical computer system, ROM is located on the motherboard, shown in the right of the picture. It contains the basic instructions for what needs to happen when a computer is powered on.
