The Importance of Research  Researching the background of your audience for the product you’re designing can help eliminate common mistakes, before they have a chance to happen. It is also our job as designers to recognize that users will make mistakes, and to provide them with easily accessible solutions once they do make an error.   The vast growth of Information The amount of information that is available to humans is growing rapidly (it currently doubles every 13 months), which makes the world we live in a constantly changing place. As our world and technology constantly changing, it can be a challenge for some to keep up with these changes, which can cause users to make mistakes.
Differences in problem-solving strategies Some factors that can determine the way in which a certain group of people solve problems are age groups, education, or past experience. Each individual is not limited to a category, and has a different strategy to overcome a problem, although there can be common habits within each category. Statistics show that middle-aged and older adults have different problem solving strategies which cause them to take longer to complete a task, when compared to younger adults. However, the amount of errors doesn’t depend on age, but rather lack of experience in that particular subject.
