your informative essay revised draft, complete the following steps to do final revisions and edit your
writing. Be sure to highlight changes that you make, so they can be clearly seen.

1. Read your essay and identify the voice you are using. In one or two
sentences, describe how you want your
voice to sound.

Based on your description, identify two ways you can improve your writing to
make this voice more clear in your story.
3. Consider the perspective of your audience. Informative writing does NOT assume that the reader has prior knowledge on a topic. Identify areas of weakness, ideas or concepts not explained, vocabulary not defined. 4. Add additional clarification in all necessary places.
5. State what format you used. Sketch out a VERY basic outline to check for continuity and insert a picture of it into your document. 6. Add a comment about whether the current organization matches your intended organization and what you might need to add or alter for a continuity.

feel could use more interesting word choice below. Revise it with more vivid
wording. Pay particular attention to places where you might switch to
more active verbs, use precise language, include strong details, employ
figurative language**Remember that informative writing does NOT equate to boring writing. (Otherwise, no one would buy National Geographic.)
8. Paste the transitions you have used to move between ideas in your essay. 9.
Identify any places in your essay where you are not using clear transitions. Write
