Page 2
In the modern world, technology has been a great impact not only in communication but also in education. In this digital age we can access to information and communication anytime, anywhere. Technology has come to make our lives easier but, there are some students who still struggle with it. Time can become an obstacle for some learners, especially those who deal with a job, family and studies. Therefore, E-learning helps and provides learning opportunities without commuting in order to save time and resources.

TIPS OR STRATEGIES FOR ONLINE TEACHING
1. PROVIDE A CLEAR COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Describe the course as clear as possible, that way students will know how they will benefit from the course, the resources and time they will have to invest in it. When explaining the topic use simple words and lead them to answer the question "What is in it for me?". Also, have constant reminders of the benefits they will get from the course so students keep interested until the end.

2. PLAN AND ORGANIZE COURSE MATERIAL:
Planning will help you to create a well organized course that will be easy to follow. Provide a logical progression and materials that will be easy to find; that way students do not have to do extra work or spend more time finding material or understanding what comes next. In each unit provide an overview with objectives, information, material and resources, all clearly labeled.

3. ENGAGE YOUR LEARNERS:
It is very important to stablish virtual presence with your learners. Support your students from the beginning and let them know that you are both visible and available. Provide them with days or time you will be online. Also, tell them how they can contact you. You can engage them through online posts, forums or social media that way you can develop professional relationships and provide them with a more personal experience.

4. CREATE A SUPPORTIVE ONLINE COMMUNITY:
Studies show that we are social being who learn better in social communities. In that sense it is important to create an online community by fostering communication among you and your students. You can start the class with an open forum, discussion area, or introductory post in which teacher and students share their personal information, professional experiences and a picture of themselves to make it more personal.

5. SUPPORT TEXT WITH AUDIO AND VIDEO BY CONNECTING THEM DIRECTLY TO COURSE ASSIGNMENTS
Avoid using audio and visual elements to repeat what you already stated in the written text. Use multimedia as alternative tools or formats to provide information. That wasy it will not be long or tedious. If you want to be sure they will focus on the resources then connect them directly to the course assignments that way students know it is important and necessary.
