Usamos las formas verbales simples para describir algo que: Se repite.  Está completado. Es permanente.

EJEMPLOS: I usually buy a paperback and just go and sit somewhere quiet. I've also called my parents to say goodbye.Luckily I only live ten minutes away.

Usamos las formas verbales continuas para describir algo que:Está en progreso.Sin acabar.Es temporal.

EJEMPLOS:I was reading a book when the phone rang.I've been sitting here for nearly five hours.I'm doing a part-time business management course at the moment.

ACTIVITY AND STATE VERBS

Activity verbs hacen referencia a actividades y acciones.- Podemos usarlos con formas simples y continuas.- Ejemplos: play, fly, travel, listen, run, work, sit, study y wait. 

State verbs hacen referencia a estados, sentimientos y opiniones. - NO se usan con formas continuas.                                             - Ejemplos:
